Treeworker Training

Treepartner Training  courses address the wide range of skills required to operate safely and efficiently within the tree care and forestry industries. In addition, we have developed several unique courses which aim to meet the demands of businesses and individuals with a desire to advance practical skills and competency, whilst recognizing the resulting benefits to safety and efficiency. For example, our Rigging course includes the use of load cells providing feedback to the operator in relation to anticipated forces in rigging systems.

Treepartner Training also offer a range of Continuation Courses including guidance to ensure compliance when working at height in trees, an introduction to mechanical climbing devices and set up and operation of the Forestry Capstan power winch. We are also able to provide Lantra certified Refresher Training Courses and the new NPTC Continuing Professional Development Assessment Units (released in 2022).

Back in 2016, Treepartner took the decision to reduce the trainee/instructor ratio from the industry standard of a maximum of four trainees, to a maximum of two for all our practical, work at height and chainsaw courses. This has proven to be very successful in improving the quality and safety of the learning experience, due to the increased instructor contact time with each trainee. For all training, Treepartner ensures that both course materials and instructors are of the highest quality. Upon completion of a course, each candidate receives a Certificate of Attendance with training objectives listed. Where appropriate, trainees may also opt to be assessed for competence under a nationally recognised scheme.

All training can be carried out at our South Lake District base near Kendal, where we have great facilities and access to excellent work sites both locally and at nearby Grizedale Forest. However, if you prefer, Treepartner Training is also happy to travel to you!

We are a registered provider for the Forestry and Arboricultural Training Fund, which offers 100% grant funding to support individuals looking to attend short, practical courses in forestry and arboriculture.
