LOLER Thorough Examiner (Tree Care Specific)
Pre-Course Requirements:
To attend this course we recommend trainees have a minimum of 5 years industry specific practical experience of aerial activities, including dismantling and are up to date with current industry best practice. Please contact Richard on 07813 012024 if you wish to discuss this.
This course is intended for experienced personnel to help ensure lifting operations (including tree climbing) are carried out safely. Enables employers, the employed and self employed to understand and meet the obligations of PUWER and LOLER regulations in relation to lifting operations within the tree care industry.

This 4-day course will cover the following topics:
- The Legislative framework
- Responsibilities of a ‘competent person’
- Equipment categories and examination intervals
- Equipment marking, inspection and maintenance
- Neighbour component compatibility and correct component configuration
- Determining Safe Working Loads for items of lifting equipment
- Lifting system design
- Decision making procedures to accept, quarantine or reject components
- Record keeping and reporting
Notes
- On completion of the training, a Treepartner Training Record of Training and Achievement (certificate) will be issued
- Following successful completion of the training, Treepartner Training Ltd can organise the related City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Certificate of Competence in the Thorough Examination of Arboricultural Equipment (Qualification No: 0037-03)
