Assisted Felling
Pre-Course Requirements:
To attend this course trainees must already hold a qualification in Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross Cutting and Felling Small Trees up to 380mm
This course is designed to follow course F01 or F02. It is for operators wishing to understand the implementation of textile and wire rope based assisted felling systems to improve felling accuracy and control.

This 2-day course will cover a range of topics including:
- Legislation
- Risk Assessment
- PPE and First Aid Provision
- Worksite planning and communication requirements
- Equipment inspection, selection and configuration including methods for determining component and system safe working load
- Wire rope and textile rope based assisted felling systems set up and operation including retrievable systems
- Sling configuration, rope angles and associated forces
- Use of battery powered and petrol driven chainsaws
- Specific felling techniques including Danish and split-level cuts and the implementation of wedges.
Notes
- On completion of the training, a Treepartner Training Record of Training and Achievement (certificate) will be issued
- Following successful completion of the training, Treepartner Training Ltd can organise the related City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Assisted Felling (Qualification No: 0039-30).
