Introduction to Felling and Processing Small Trees with a Diameter at Felling Height of up to 380mm

Pre-Course Requirements:

To attend this course trainees must already hold a qualification in Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross Cutting

This course is designed to follow on from F01 Chainsaw Maintenance , Cross-Cutting and Basic Chainsaw Operation but can also run as a combined course (F01/F02). It introduces a range of felling and branch removal techniques and outlines ways to safely deal with hung up and leaning trees.

  • Recap of cross cutting topics covered in course F01
  • Organised felling and thinning techniques
  • Specialist felling techniques
  • Branch removal methods
  • Take down of hung-up trees including the set up and operation of a hand winch.

Price per person (3 days)



  • When F01 and F02 are run back-to-back as a 5-day combined course the cost is £900
  • On completion of the training, a Treepartner Training Record of Training and Achievement (certificate) will be issued
  • Following successful completion of the training, Treepartner Training Ltd can organise the related City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Felling Small Trees up to 380mm (Qualification No: 0039-21).
